My Weekly Love | Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser

The perfect cleanser?

I was sent through this sample for the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse & Polish in my Birchbox a few months ago and I never got around to opening and using it. I have heard and read people raving about the product on blogs and in youtube videos so I decided to try it out finally for myself.

The consistency and fragrance of the product is amazing! The perfect aroma for a cleanser being clean, fresh and herbal. A cloth was provided with the product for use when using the cleanser. After using the product for a few days I already saw my skin looking more bright and radiant, and leaves my face feeling thoroughly cleaned.

This product is amazing and I would definitely recommend this product due to how lovely it leaves my skin!

What I miss about Winter

As much as I love the warmer weather, the longer holidays, lighter clothing and ice creams that summer brings, there are also a few things that I miss about the wintry months.

Happy 1st Birthday!

''Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Lily Rose...''
Happy Birthday to you!

A year has gone so fast!
Today, 24th July 2015, marks exactly one year of blogging! This time last year I was a young girl that read many blogs, and dreamed of becoming a magazine journalist/editor. Back in July 2014, at the age of 15, I took a step in the direction of becoming a magazine journalist/editor, and I never dreamt of how much fun I would have! My work experience at Psychologies Magazine, and great support from the people around me secured my decision to create a blog called Lily Rose.
I absolutely love blogging, and it has become such an important part in my life. My hobbies of writing and taking photos has opened me out to so many people, all across the globe, and to many opportunities. I have loved everyone minute, and I look forward to what the future holds; hopefully many more friends, collaborations, posts and fun!
In a year of blogging so much has happened! I have travelled to countries such as France and Iceland, I have interviewed so many talented bloggers, I have eaten out in many restaurants across the UK, I have attended events such as London Fashion Week, and the Hyde Park Film Festival, experienced my leavers Prom, I have had makeovers, tried out new beauty and fashion items, and enjoyed myself!

I would like to thank everyone I have met on this journey so far, all the people who read/or have read my blog, and to all the people who follow me on any of my social media links. I would also like to thank my friends and family who are so supportive of everything I do!

My blog has had many design changes over a year, and the way I create posts has certainly developed and improved. I enjoy blogging more and more everyday, and I love to hear great feedback from people, and responding to lovely comments on my posts and social media posts.
So all that is left to say is...
Bring on another year! Who knows what will happen?

10 Summer Beauty Rules

This little post will give you the low-down on how to be extra beautiful this summer. Hopefully these 10 easy tips will give you an extra body-confidence boost.

1. SPF is your best friend
It's summer! That means that the sun is out and there is promise of hot weather. We want to make sure we are out and about, soaking in that vitamin D, but we need to protect ourselves from the harsh UV rays. My favourite sun-care product, that I am using at the moment, is the Hawaiian Tropic Spray with an SPF 30. It is so easy to use, and smells amazing! Ensure you coat your skin in the mornings, whilst you are getting dressed, to make sure your whole body is fully protected.

2. Cover Up
For those of you who burn easily [like me] and find that sun lotion is not enough to shield you from the sun's rays, then why not cover up in style? Don't worry, you can still wear your favourite bikini, perhaps purchase a kimono, sarong or hat of your choice for extra protection.

3. Wear a Waterproof Face
You can still wear makeup when at the beach or around a pool, I would invest is some waterproof makeup products. I am loving the B. All Lengthening, Defining and Volumising Waterproof Mascara at the moment, and that would be perfect to take with you on holiday!

4. Do you want some Aloe Vera for that burn?
After a long day out in the sun, it is important to treat and soothe your skin. If you have dry or irritated skin then a soothing aloe vera gel is the perfect solution! Lots of aftersun products contain aloe vera now, but I always love a good original pure aloe vera gel that you can buy from most drugstores or chemists.

5. Keep the pests at bay!
Along with beautiful warm weather comes midges, mosquitos and biting insects. It is important to prevent these pest bites, so stock up your cabinet or suitcase with insect repellent and bite cream.

6. Happy Feet
Summer brings the arrival of flip flops, sandals and bare feet. Ensure your feet are smiling by purchasing a foot exfoliator and some foot moisturiser. Why not treat your toes to a new nail polish too?

7. Hydrate
Drink bucket and spade loads of water during the warmer months to hydrate your whole body! To further hydrate your body purchase a body moisturiser for your skin, a lip balm for your lips and a hydration shampoo and conditioner for your hair.

8. Superfoods for your Diet
You don't need to purchase fancy tablets or products to help you boost the vitamins in your body this summer, below are some foods that will give you extra healthy, glowing skin this season!
Salmon
Kale
Tomatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Avocados
Broccoli
Brazil Nuts
Kiwi Fruit

9. Catch some Waves
The beach waves are a hot hair trend at the moment so embrace your natural hair's waves. To achieve effortless looking, beachy waves follow my 5 step guide...
1. Wash your hair with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
2. Towel dry your hair and leave it to dry naturally.
3. Tie your hair in a dutch or french braid before sleeping on it.
4. In the morning untie your hair, and mess up the waves slightly.
5. Reach for a texture spray such as a sea salt spray to finish off the look!

10. Summer Spritz
A summer fragrance is the perfect thing to make you feel more body-confident and beautiful this summer. After a spritz of new, fresh perfume I immediately feel so much better. I have been loving so many new fragrances in the last few months but below are a few of my favourites that I think you should definitely sniff next time you are in the perfume department in your local store.
Jimmy Choo Exotic
Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss
Paco Rabanne Lady Million

I hope these 10 beauty tips will help you feel more beautiful this summer and I hope this post has given you a few new products to pack for holiday this year!

Where has the time gone?

It's all over!

After 7 years at primary school, and 5 years at secondary school, I have finished my school life. After being up to my ears in school work, past papers, highlighters and revision cards, it is such a liberating feeling that I am now free! I am very lucky as I am someone who enjoyed my school life, even though I may have taken some of my time at school for granted. All of my teachers and friends have made my experience so fulfilling and memorable!

My time at primary school was so much fun! I remember not having a care in the world, when painting a butterfly was an hour long lesson, and learning my 8 times tables was really hard homework! I remember all my teachers and friends, the school nativity and plays, and the many school trips - especially the Isle of Wight, when golden time was the best part of the day, and diablos and tamagotchis were the entertainment at lunchtimes! When leaving primary school in 2010 at the age of 11, it didn't really sink in that I was moving on to a new stage in my life, I was just so excited about what was awaiting me at secondary school.

Not many of my best friends carried on to the same secondary school as me. This meant that I needed to build my confidence to make new friends, and form new relationships with people. Who'd have thought that the young girl waddling nervously through large school gates, gazing at hundreds of new faces, would later become a young adult, with many friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life? During Years 7, 8 and 9, I thoroughly enjoyed subjects like art, music and drama - but when GCSEs called in Year 10 I had to drop lots of the relaxing, fun subjects as it was time to knuckle down on the few subjects I had selected. The lower years of secondary school were filled with so many fond memories, some of these include our school trips to Le Touquet, Thorpe Park and of course Iceland! I will miss so many things at school such as my friends who are leaving to carry on education elsewhere or to take on apprenticeships, and classes such as my English class, that I had so much fun in! The GCSE exams that I completed recently were a lot harder than I had anticipated, but I worked so hard to achieve the best I could. The months of studying and revising continuously had left me exhausted, so it is amazing to finally have a mind free of exam stress and information!

Now that school has ended there are some things I will certainly not miss. The uniform I had to wear was Gross - with a capital 'G'! The colours of our blouses were yellow, and matched with dark brown cardigans and skirts - and yes we did look like mouldy bananas! The cardigan was heavy and a nightmare in the summer, and I am so happy that I don't need to hunt for brown tights to buy!
During the GCSE period I was revising for around 12 subjects and it was hard work!

My overall time at secondary school has been fantastic! The teachers and support has been amazing, and I have been made to feel welcomed from my very first day. I am so so lucky to have an amazing group of positive friends around me, and we have grown up together and made so many memories. I am also so so lucky that all of my close friends are staying with me as we take our next step into Sixth Form to take A Levels, this means that more fun and memories await - as well as of course hard work!

I am excited for what the future holds!

My Weekly Love | Coconut Water Hair Care

The beautiful aroma of tropical paradise!

I recently purchased this Ogx Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner duo and I have been loving it this week. I am a sucker for anything coconut-y, especially in the summer. This duo looked amazing as the packaging looked pure and fresh, and the bottle promised to hydrate my hair whilst also making it weightless. I suffer from quite dry hair so I always tend to opt for hydrating hair care, but sometimes it can leave my hair feeling oily or heavy, so these products were something I wanted to try for myself.

I was so happy with the quality of the products and how amazing they made my hair feel. The coconut oil in the shampoo and conditioner isn't too heavy, but leaves my hair feeling clean and silky. The smell is amazing too, and transports me to an island of paradise. I have had many compliments on the smell of my hair too!

Overall, it is my savior for healtheir and silkier hair!

It's Interview Time!
This time I was lucky enough to interview a lovely blogger, Maddie from Loafers and Lattes. I am actually obssessed with her blog name - I just love both loafers and lattes so much! You may recognise her from the recent blogger collaboration, Worldwide Rainbow, when she created a beautiful outfit with the colour Retro Orange. I am excited to learn more about her and her blog, so let's get on with questions...

My Weekly Love | Dior Hollywood Lipgloss

The Hollywood Wow Factor!
From my recent blog post you have seen that at Prom I made a statement with my new Rouge Dior Brilliant Lip Gloss in the shade Hollywood [688]. My Prom outfit had a classic feel to it, and I wanted to make a statement with a bold, glossy lip, so this lip gloss seemed to be the perfect product for me.
I tend to stick to neutrals and light pinks on my lips, but I wanted something more different and fun for Prom and Hollywood seemed the perfect colour for an occassion such as Prom.
I matched the lip gloss with warm, neautral eyes to ensure, in the words of Lil Mama, 'ma lip gloss be poppin'
Now it is summer, I feel I will be more confident to wear this lip gloss when out and about in London, and on holiday - and the colour would look fab with a tan! I think that I will start experimenting more with makeup and try shades and colours that are a little out of my comfort zone more often. Don't be afraid to try new things, that's the fun of makeup!
The pigmentation of the lip gloss is amazing and it is basically a glossy lipstick! The product is surprisingly long lasting for a gloss too, and left my lips feeling moisturised.

A Night to Remember | Prom 2015

What a night!
Last Friday I celebrated the end of school with my beautiful friends, and I had an amazing night! I really appreciate all the effort that went into the Prom and I had such a fun time. Everyone at the Prom looked stunning, and I am so lucky to spend the night with my best friends - who are very special to me!
The Prom was at The Woodlands in Swanley, Kent [UK]. The venue was rather small for our whole year, but we still had a fantastic night! The preparation for the night was done at my friend's house [Lucy] as her older sister, Rachel Lanning, is a hair and makeup artist, and set up her studio to get us ready for prom. I wanted Rachel to do my hair, as I'm not very good at hair styling, but I opted to do my own makeup.
